Wilderness Beach Lodge is located in Port Lions, Kodiak Island, Alaska. Sitka spruce, cottonwood, birch, alder, and willow trees cover the mountainous terrain around Port Lions. This village was established after the tsunami of 1964 destroyed the original village on Afognak Island. The town of 200 people was named in honor of the International Lions Club; the service group that helped rebuild and relocate the new village. The village sits on the Kizhuyak Bay. Our oceanfront Lodge is on Settlers Cove and offers a spectacular view. We fish in the sheltered bays, which are
protected from weather by Raspberry, Afognak, and Whale Islands.
