Luggage Limitations: We strongly recommend that each guest limit their check-in luggage to one large bag. Therefore, coming home, each person can check two bags, one luggage bag and one 50 lb box of fish.

Weather: In the land of the midnight sun, daytime highs will be in the upper 50’s to low 60s during the summer months. Remember most of the time you will be on the water and the water temperature is in the low 40s. Kodiak Island earns it nickname, “The Emerald Island” because of frequent rain showers. Both our boats have heated cabins, so you will be able to warm up and dry off, if necessary.

What to Bring: Essentials are a good waterproof rain suit and waterproof footware. You will want to pack layered clothing, including long johns, sweaters, a neck gaitor, gloves, and a warm hat and a rain hat. Also in the essential category should be a pair of wrap-around sunglasses. If you want to fish the streams you will need to bring waders and perhaps your fly rod. There is a washing machine and dryer at the lodge that You can use if you need.

What to Expect: Once at the Lodge you will have a chance to unpack, get your fishing licenses, explore the lodge and village, and visit with your guide about your fishing trips.
You will fish Monday through Friday. You can expect to get up in the morning and have a good breakfast. You will fish with your guide and enjoy snacks and a boat lunch. In the evening you will have time to clean up and enjoy an appetizer before your evening meal.

Leaving: We will return you to Kodiak City airport in time to catch your flight out. We strongly recommend that you book a late afternoon flight out of Kodiak City on Saturday afternoon.
